2026 Maine Principals Award

March 27, 2026

The Maine Principals award, sponsored by the Maine Principals Association, is given to a senior in   recognition of their academic achievement and citizenship. The Principals Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA. All Recipients are invited to attend a luncheon with their building principal being held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Jeff’s Catering at 12:30 p.m. At the honors luncheon, recipients will be recognized with the presentation of an individual plaque and have the chance of winning one of ten $1,000 scholarships in the names of former Maine principals and MPA Executive Directors.

This year’s Maine Principals Award for Telstar High School is going to a student who has distinguished themselves academically in the classroom and as a leader in school, at student council, as well as in the community. As a valued member of the Telstar basketball team, this student played an active role in helping the team win the sportsmanship award. Their coach describes them as a very hard working, unselfish, intelligent, kind, and reliable individual. Teachers describe them as someone who often flies under the radar, but gets great grades, is polite, and willing to help anyone who needs it.

This year’s Maine Principal’s award for Telstar High School is going to a student who embodies all six characteristics of Telstar’s Portrait of a Graduate, Jonathan Marshall of Bryant Pond. Jonathan’s commitment to excellence and service highlights the values that the Maine Principals Award seeks to recognize. In addition to the recognition and possible scholarship on the 5th, Jonathan will receive a $250 Assistance Award from Telstar High School to use at his discretion. Congratulations Jonathan!
