The Telstar Freshman Academy students recently engaged in a productive morning at Buck's Ledge, collaborating with two of our community partners to learn about our ongoing Pay It Forward Projects within the community forest. Our first initiative involves providing assistance to the Woodstock Conservation Commission in the development and construction of an accessible trail within the community forest. Next, The students learned about how TFA is actively contributing to an on-going forest monitoring project in collaboration with Dartmouth College.
The visit culminated with a hike to Lapham and Buck's Ledges, where the students applied and honed their map and compass skills that they have developed through their Outdoor Leadership class. This immersive experience not only underscores our commitment to community engagement but also serves as a testament to the invaluable practical skills our students are acquiring in their academic journey.
