This database has four components. 
  • New Book of Knowledge
  • Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia Online
  • Encyclopedia Americana Online
  • New Book of Popular Science Online
At home, the page will prompt you to set up your own
user name and password.
 


Internet Public Library:  http://www.ipl.org
The Internet Public Library has subject collections and ready reference for the Internet community. 
 


Newsbank InfoWeb:  http://infoweb.newsbank.com
Newsbank has two databases for your use.

  • News File
  • Science Source
At home you will need a user ID and a password.
These are provided to you through a hand out. 



MARVEL:  http://libraries.maine.edu/mainedatabases  This is Maine's Virtual Library.  Thousands of magazines, newspapers, and reference books are available anywhere in the State of Maine through the online resources of MARVEL!

At home you will need to register as a new user.
You will create your own user name and password for future use.



Minerva:  http://ursus2.ursus.maine.edu/search  If you need to find a specific book for your research needs, this site will help you locate it.  See Mrs. Fraser for an interlibrary loan slip.
